our Partners

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Horizons at SFFS is lucky to partner with several outstanding San Francisco institutions. Together, we are working to eliminate the achievement gap for children in our community.

san francisco friends school

Horizons at SFFS is very fortunate to be housed at and fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco Friends School, a K-8th grade private school located in the Mission District. SFFS graciously allows Horizons to use the school building at no cost and provides in-kind support such as custodial and administrative services, highlighting the school's Quaker values in action.

More Partners:

+ Bay Area Teacher Training Institute

Horizons partners with the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) which provides teachers in training to fill TA and Co-Teacher positions during the Horizons summer program.

+ Bytes 4 Bits

Bytes 4 Bits is a nonprofit with the mission to eliminate the gender and income gap in technology through teaching confidence, compassion, and coding. We're partnering with them to provide a coding elective for our students.

+ Columbia Park Clubhouse

Accommodating family schedules is important to us. After a full day at Horizons, some of our students head over to Columbia Park to enjoy their summer enrichment activities. Columbia Park offers evening programming that includes art, sports, and even making slime!

+ First Exposures

Horizons partners with First Exposures, a nationally recognized youth mentoring program, for photography instruction.

+ Mission Pool, the Don Fisher Clubhouse, and Chinatown YMCA

Swim lessons are an integral part of the Horizons philosophy and an overwhelming student favorite. We're lucky to partner with three excellent San Francisco aquatics facilities: Mission Pool, the Don Fisher Clubhouse, and Chinatown YMCA.

+ Nagata Dance

Horizons students receive high quality dance instruction from the team at Nagata Dance . Each year, parents are delighted to see their children perform at Back to Program Night - and even get to join in themselves.

+ San Francisco Department of Children, Youth & Their Families

We are proud and delighted to share that Horizons at SFFS is one of 60 San Francisco year-round and summer learning programs that was awarded a five-year (2018-2023) grant from the SF Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF). This funding helps support Horizons' personnel costs, enrichment programs, and expansion into middle school. We are enjoying working with the DCYF team and collaborating and learning alongside our fellow grantees!

+ SF Community Music Center

Talented instructors from the San Francisco Community Music Center lead music classes for our students.

+ UCSF Science and Health Education Partnership

Every summer, Horizons at SFFS students engage in a hands-on classroom science curriculum thanks to support from the UCSF Science and Health Education Partnership .
